Work, Money & Investments in Paraguay

Once you have made the decision for yourself that the advantages of living in Paraguay outweigh the disadvantages and you have decided to emigrate to Paraguay, there is one more essential aspect of daily life to calculate:

Finances. Even if life in Paraguay is in many respects still cheaper than in Germany, you should keep in mind that life is not free. In order to give you a general overview and a well-founded estimation of earning money in Paraguay, I would like to give you a short explanation about working as an employee, self-employment as well as possibilities of passive income, e.g. through safe investments.

A job as an employee as we know it from Germany is in most cases not desirable in Paraguay, because wages are in almost all employment relationships below what you are used to from Germany. Especially in the rural areas, you often receive less than the local minimum wage of the equivalent of just 310 EURO, which does not allow you to make big jumps despite working full time.

Although there are some exceptions of salaried jobs with an academic background, I can still advise you from my experience rather to self-employed work. Here, however, you should definitely take the time to analyze the market, competition and target group in detail beforehand. If you have any questions or doubts, I will be happy to help you with my network.

Surely it is better to plan and inform yourself first

After all, good planning is the be-all and end-all in order to really gain a successful foothold. During my time in Paraguay, I was able to experience successful self-employment in many areas, ranging from crafts and gastronomy to consulting in politics, business and international organizations.

I can also tell you more about self-employment in the cities or rural areas if needed. Contact me in this regard and explain to me what you are planning and I will be at your side.

However, the easiest way to earn an income is through fixed income investments with banks and cooperatives in Paraguay. I.e. even if you do not bring a large fortune from the old life in Germany, so a safe investment with 15% yield is worthwhile quite nevertheless.

No matter which way you decide and are interested in, I will be happy to help you with my experience!
